When to use each option
Paste the original text into the top box and read the cleaned version below before you copy it. The tool joins single hard line breaks. A blank line is the only signal it uses to keep separate paragraphs, so check headings, lists and poetry by eye.
A paragraph copied from a PDF
If each printed line ends with a hard break, leave "Keep paragraph breaks" selected. "The report was prepared\nfor the team.\n\nNext steps follow." becomes "The report was prepared for the team." followed by a separate "Next steps follow." paragraph.
A wrapped email for a form field
Choose "Remove all line breaks" if the destination needs one line, such as a search field or spreadsheet cell. This also removes paragraph breaks, so do not use it when you need to keep the original structure.
Words broken across printed lines
Leave the hyphen option on when copied text contains "infor-" at the end of one line and "mation" on the next. Turn it off for line-ended hyphens that you want to preserve. Always check proper names, numbers and intentional line breaks before using the result.

Why does text copied from a PDF have so many line breaks?
PDFs store the position of every line on the page, not the paragraphs. When you copy, each visual line becomes a separate line of text with a hard break at the end. This tool joins those lines back into real paragraphs.
How does "keep paragraph breaks" decide what a paragraph is?
A blank line (an empty line between blocks of text) is treated as a paragraph break and kept. Single line breaks inside a block are replaced with a space, so each paragraph becomes one flowing chunk of text.
What does the hyphen fix do?
PDFs and emails often split a long word at the end of a line with a hyphen ("infor-" then "mation"). The fix removes the hyphen and joins the word back together. It only triggers on lowercase letters around the hyphen, so real hyphens like "well-known" stay intact.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. The cleaning runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device, and nothing is stored - close the tab and it is gone.
Does it work with emails and Word documents too?
Yes. Emails frequently arrive with hard breaks at 70-80 characters per line, and text copied from Word can carry stray line breaks and double spaces. Paste either one and the same fixes apply.
